Te Kura o Pakotai is a small rural school situated in the beautiful peaceful valley of Mangakahia. We are a full primary school (Year 0 to 8) situated in the Whangarei District Area. We affiliate ourselves with the Ngati Toki and Ngati Horahia hapū of Pakotai. Pakotai School was established in 1905 and has over 100 years of rich history embedded into the fabric of it's walls. 

Our school sits comfortably under our maunga, Te Tārai ō Rāhiri and next to the Mangakāhia river that flows gently through to the Wairoa- out to the Kaipara harbour.  Our school has abundant bush nearby, with the mountains, and rivers all at our door step. 

We are situated alongside Mangakahia Road, State Highway 15, and we are mid-way between Whangārei to the south east, Dargaville  to the west and Kaikohe to the north.
